(Minnesota, MN) What does it take to headline a music festival these days? Apparently the only criteria seems to be being popular in the early 90s. Depeche Mode? Jane's Addiction? Really? Is that the best they can get these days?
But that got us thinking. Who SHOULD headline? I know my list would be My Morning Jacket and Arcade Fire on Friday night. Ryan Adams and Wilco on Saturday. Bright Eyes and Radiohead on Sunday. But would that excite the masses? Do you need that massive commercial success to be a good festival headliner? Do people who buy CDs from the bargain bin at Wal-Mart attending more festivals than I am?
I know one thing, I'm glad we're getting married this August. Because I wouldn't want to go to this trash anyway.
